Wilhelm Julius of Plotho
Wilhelm Julius Edler von Plotho (born December 23, 1728 in Demmin , † October 21, 1802 at the Plassenburg ) was a Prussian major general .
Life
origin
Wilhelm Julius came from the highly free noble family von Plotho . He was the son of Bastian Friedrich von Plotho (born May 27, 1700 in Vorgrabow; † October 14, 1758 near Hochkirch ), a Prussian lieutenant colonel and commander of a grenadier battalion, and his wife Christiane, née Stieber von Buttenheim.
Military career
Plotho joined in 1747 as Junker in Ansbacher services . During his military career on October 14, 1778, he became a colonel and commandant of the Plassenburg Fortress. In this position, Plotho was accepted into Prussian services on January 5, 1792 with a salary of 700 thalers and promoted to major general on February 7, 1795. As a reward for his many years of loyal service, his annual salary increased to 1,000 thalers from June 1797.

Plotho was married twice. First with Anna von Schauroth, later with Marie von Oettinger . The second marriage resulted in a son:
