Wilhelm Noeldechen
Wilhelm Noeldechen (born May 11, 1839 in Wolmirstedt , † December 19, 1916 in Naumburg (Saale) ) was a German doctor and writer.
Life
As the son of a superintendent, Noeldechen attended the Martineum (Halberstadt) . From 1858 he studied philosophy and medicine at the University of Leipzig . With Julius Upmann and Ludwig Gundlach he was reciprocated in the Corps Lusatia Leipzig in 1859 . In the summer semester of 1859 he moved to the Friedrich Wilhelms University . He became active in the Corps Normannia Berlin , but resigned after a short time. In 1863 he passed the final philosophical examination and the state medical examination. In Berlin he was awarded a Dr. med. PhD. He enlisted in the Prussian Army as a one-year volunteer doctor and went to the German-Danish War . When storming the Düppeler Schanzen on April 18, 1864, he suffered hearing damage from an explosion, which he suffered from throughout his life. In 1865 he became a prison doctor in the Lichtenburg Castle prison . Later he was a district surgeon in the Torgau district and from 1883 a school doctor in Pforta .
As a poet doctor he wrote numerous poems, novels and dramas, preferring historical material. He wrote the life stories of Ludwig Yorck von Wartenburg , Martin Behaim and Joachim Nettelbeck . On the eve of the unveiling of the Jung-Bismarck monument near the Rudelsburg by the Kösener SC-Verband in 1896, he read a poem to the “former Reich Chancellor” in the Courageous Knight . He wrote student songs and poems for his corps. Retired in 1899 at his own request due to hearing loss, he retired in Naumburg.
In 1886 he was awarded the title of Medical Councilor, and he was awarded the Order of the Red Eagle, fourth class.
