Wilhelm Richard von Schöning

Wilhelm Richard von Schöning (* 1709 ; † 1781 in Lippehne ) was a Prussian district administrator who headed the Soldin district from 1758 to 1765 .

Life

He was the eldest son of the landowner Lupold Ernst von Schöning († 1712), heir to Plönzig in the Pyritz district , and his wife Eva Benigna, born von Wedel († 1736). The von Schöning family is one of the oldest noble families in Pomerania. What education Wilhelm Richard von Schöning received is not known.

Schöning initially managed the inherited part of the Plönzig estate , which he sold in 1753. In 1754 he bought from District Administrator Lorenz George von Wedel his share of the Kossin estate with Vorwerk Mützelburg . Kossin was also in the Pomeranian district of Pyritz, the Vorwerk Mützelburg in the neighboring district of Soldin in New Markia . Schöning acquired the share of Kossin (b), i.e. one half of the village, consisting of an arable farm , three farms and three farms.

In 1758, after the death of District Administrator Christian Friedrich von Küssow, he became District Administrator of the Soldin district in Neumark . In 1765 he took his leave, his successor was his son-in-law Christian Ludwig von Restorff .

Due to economic difficulties, Wilhelm Richard von Schöning had to accept bankruptcy proceedings over his assets in 1767. In 1772 he ceded the Kossin estate to his second wife and four sons. In 1780 he became a fortress prison convicted of 2 months.

Wilhelm Richard von Schöning was married to Marie Eleonore von Papstein, who died in 1733 giving birth to their first daughter. In his second marriage he married Eleonore Sophie von Papstein, from the same family. The marriage resulted in 17 children. The daughter Sophie Wilhelmine von Schöning (* 1736, † 1766) married Christian Ludwig von Restorff in 1765 , Schöning's successor as district administrator. The daughter Louise Tugendreich (* 1741; † 1818) was married to the Prussian Colonel Leopold von Hagen (* 1742; † 1823), her son Hans von Hagen (* 1775; † 1851) became a Prussian major general . The son Ernst von Schöning (* 1743, † 1823) became a Prussian lieutenant general .
