Carl Heinrich Wilhelm Schwarze (born August 24, 1851 in Brilon ; † January 8, 1937 in Ostercappeln ) was a lawyer and politician at the center , a member of the Reichstag and the Prussian state parliament.

Life and work

Schwarze attended high school in his hometown and between 1869 and 1872 went to Marburg and Berlin to study law . He then did his military service as a one-year volunteer and made it to lieutenant. The usual legal career path followed: trainee lawyer in 1872 and court assessor in 1877. In November 1877, Schwarze became a district judge in Essen and two years later a district judge. He was employed in the same function in Oelde from 1881 to 1884 , followed by Rüthen and Münster as places of work . Eventually he was appointed to the Privy Council of Justice.

Politics and mandates

Politically, black people belonged to the Center Party and had been on the provincial committee of this party in Westphalia since 1911 . Black has also dealt with the party scientifically and journalistically. From June 1893 until the end of the Empire, Schwarze represented the constituency of Lippstadt- Brilon (Arnsberg 8) in the Reichstag. From 1894 to 1918 he also sat in the Prussian House of Representatives as a representative of the constituency administrative district Arnsberg 7 (Lippstadt - Arnsberg - Brilon). According to his writings, Schwarze has not least dealt with questions of colonial policy.

Schwarze was strictly anti-social-democratic, at the same time he was interested in socio-political interests and campaigned for the interests of the workers in his constituency. So he acted as a mediator during a bitter strike by workers at the chemical plant in Brilon-Wald against the company " Hüstener Union ". He was also a reporter for the Sauerland on the situation of the Sauerland traveling traders of the Verein für Socialpolitik .
