Wilhelm Schwarzhaupt (politician)

Wilhelm Schwarzhaupt (born October 4, 1871 in Schlüchtern ; † August 16, 1961 ) was a German educator and politician ( DVP , LDP ).

Life

Wilhelm Schwarzhaupt was born the son of a teacher. After graduating from primary school and attending grammar school in Fulda , he completed the teachers' seminar . He then attended lectures at the universities in Bonn and Marburg . After passing the secondary school teacher and rector exams, he entered the school service. He initially worked as a preparation teacher in Herborn , then worked as a primary school teacher in Schlüchtern and later became a seminar assistant teacher in Usingen . He then worked as an elementary school teacher, secondary school teacher and rector in Frankfurt am Main. In 1920 he became city school councilor, then high school councilor and finally magistrate high school councilor. In this role he wrote school books for middle schools.

Schwarzhaupt was a member of the National Liberal Party before 1918 , then joined the DVP and was a member of the Prussian state parliament from 1921 to 1933 . In the state parliament he was the school policy spokesman for his parliamentary group. After the Second World War he took part in the founding of the Hessian LDP, which became the Hessian state association of the FDP . From February to July 1946 he was a member of the Advisory State Committee in Hesse . Here he was chairman of the LDP parliamentary group.

Wilhelm Schwarzhaupt was a member of the Freemasons Association . His daughter is the CDU politician Elisabeth Schwarzhaupt .
