Wilhelm Stuellen (born November 11, 1916 in Hamburg ; † April 5, 2006 in Glücksburg ) was an officer in the Air Force during World War II , later a judge at the Hamburg Finance Court and was one of the group of revisionists who deny the Holocaust .

Life

Dismissed from civil service in 1974

Because of membership in the NPD and incessant publications in right-wing extremist magazines, disciplinary proceedings were initiated against the Hamburg finance judge St Tages in 1974 , which ended with early retirement and a reduction in pension payments for five years.

Publication "The Auschwitz Myth" 1979

1979 appeared in Tübingen Publisher Grabert Stäglich book The Auschwitz myth - legend or reality , in which he the existence of gas chambers in the concentration and extermination camps the Nazis denied, claiming that all the documents on the Holocaust forgeries. As early as 1980 this book was confiscated nationwide by the Stuttgart Regional Court and in 1982 it was added to the list of writings harmful to young people by a decision of the Federal Testing Office for writings that are harmful to minors. The order of confiscation was confirmed by the Federal Court of Justice in 1983 .

Withdrawal of doctorate in 1983

After the judgment of the Federal Court of Justice, the University of Göttingen initiated proceedings against Stestag, with which the doctorate he had obtained there in 1951 was revoked.

The extremism expert Eckhard Jesse criticized the reaction of the University of Göttingen to the publication of the Stuellen book Auschwitz-Mythos . According to a law of 1939, the author was stripped of his doctorate because it was unworthy. Jesse: “Anyone who considers his work to be anti-Semitic - the Monitum is appropriate here - has to raise concerns about this decision for two reasons. First, paternalism on the part of the citizen, who is accused of a lack of judgment, is not evidence of liberalism; secondly, right-wing extremism sees itself confirmed, and outsiders could believe that there is 'something in it' in Städlich's theses. One has the impression that an example should be made. "

Political commitment

At a right-wing extremist event to commemorate the Holocaust denier Thies Christophersen , who died in February 1997, he and Jürgen Rieger acted as a speaker.
