Karl Wilhelm Bernhard von Raven (born May 18, 1802 in Prenzlau , † September 6, 1866 in Naumburg (Saale) ) was a Prussian major general and commander of the 15th Cavalry Brigade .

Life

Wilhelm was a son of the gentleman from Groß Luckow , Rosenthal and Friedrichshof Ernst von Raven (1756-1830) and his wife Wilhelmine, born von Sydow (1762-1818).

Military career

Raven visited the Berlin Cadet House and on October 3, 1819, was transferred as a Second Lieutenant to the 4th Uhlan Regiment of the Prussian Army . From 1824 to 1826 he was assigned to the teaching squadron for training purposes. He was promoted to Prime Lieutenant on November 22, 1835 and commanded from February 2, 1841 to April 25, 1842 as leader of the Landwehr squadron in Stolp . On May 9, 1843 Raven rose to knight master and squadron chief . After his promotion to major , he was appointed regimental commander on May 4, 1854 and advanced to colonel by the end of May 1858 . Raven married Ida von Göhren (1810–1899) on November 3, 1827 in Berlin. The couple had several children:
