Willi Fehse

Willi Fehse (born May 16, 1906 as Willi Richard Fehse in Kassieck / Altmark , † March 2, 1977 in Göttingen ) was a German educator and writer .

Life

Willi Fehse was the son of a farmer . He completed his training as a primary school teacher at the preparatory institute and the teachers' college in Genthin . He then went to Berlin as an unemployed young teacher , where he wrote articles as a theater critic for the " Literary World " and other magazines. In addition, he heard u. a. Art history lectures at the University of Berlin . Fehse made extensive trips to Europe , North Africa , the United States, and Mexico . From 1928 he belonged together with authors such as Manfred Hausmann , Ernst Glaeser and Martin Beheim-Schwarzbach to the " Circle of Twelve ", an author group founded by Hans Bodenstedt in the context of the Hamburg radio station " NORAG "; The aim of the group was to create a new, radio-friendly literature. - Fehse's marriage in 1933 had two children.

After the Second World War , Willi Fehse was a teacher in Magdeburg and Wernigerode and finally rector of the Hölty school in Göttingen .

Willi Fehse was the author of novels , short stories , books for young people , features , poems and radio plays , and he also published numerous collections of poems , fairy tales and anecdotes . His works "Helden und Haudegen", "Karl Müller's great change" and "Der Waffensegen", which appeared during the Third Reich , were on the " List of literature to be sorted out" after 1945 in the Soviet zone and the early GDR - Willi Fehse had been a member since 1959 of the PEN Center of the Federal Republic of Germany .
