Willi Kowalj

Willi Kowalj (born February 6, 1943 in Berlin ; † 1988 ) was a German actor .

Life

Kowalj was the son of a Russian woman and a German woman. After his theater training in the early 1960s , stage engagements followed in Coburg , Dortmund , Düsseldorf , Munich , Bad Hersfeld and Stuttgart . In Dortmund he had a particular success with the Romeo in Romeo and Juliet in the 1960s, although fencing is said to have caused him great difficulties. In 1979 he played in Hamburg under Rudolf Noelte in Shaw's The Doctor at the Crossroads .

He became known in 1971 with the role of "Aloysius Pankburn" in The Sea Wolf . He later appeared in the series PS - Feuerreiter (1979). Kowalj was also frequently seen in the Derrick and Der Alte ranks . He died at the end of the 1980s -years, according to his former stage partner Katerina Jacob to AIDS .
