William Eubank (born November 15, 1982 ) is an American film director , cameraman and screenwriter. He also worked as a production designer for his first film Love (2011) .

Life

Eubank began working as a director at the age of 18 and made commercials for Mikasa and other clients. He was employed by Panavision in Woodland Hills , California for eight years as a camera and digital imaging technician.

Much of Eubank's work uses the speed ramping effect. Such recordings were used for the Mikasa videos and in reels for Honda , Adidas , Skullcandy and others. Eubank was later hired by the Ultimate Fighting Championship to record the fights in this style. Some of Eubank's dream-like stylistic choices can be explained by his predilection for expressionism and inspiration from director Stanley Kubrick's philosophy that “a film is or should be more like music than fiction. It should be a course of moods and feelings. The subject ... the meaning, all of that comes later. "

Eubank's first full-length film Love is a four-year project in which he has taken on the roles of director, screenwriter, cameraman and production designer. The film, commissioned by the alternative rock band Angels & Airwaves , premiered at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival in February 2011 and ran for one day in 450 US cinemas on August 10. Eubank himself built the entire set, including the International Space Station and the battlefield of the American Civil War, over nine months in his parents' garden. In 2014, The Signal was his second feature film.
