William Keith Weigand

William Keith Weigand (born May 23, 1937 in Bend ) is a former Roman Catholic Bishop of Sacramento .

Life

William Keith Weigand was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Boise City on May 25, 1963 .

Pope John Paul II named him Bishop of Salt Lake City on September 9, 1980 . The Archbishop of San Francisco , John Raphael Quinn , donated him episcopal ordination on November 17 of that year ; Co- consecrators were Sylvester William Treinen , Bishop of Boise City, and Joseph Lennox Federal , Bishop Emeritus of Salt Lake City.

He was named Bishop of Sacramento on November 30, 1993, and was installed in office on January 27 of the next year. On November 29, 2008, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.
