Willmatshofen is a parish village and part of the Fischach market in the Swabian district of Augsburg and is part of the perennial cultural landscape .

location

The district borders directly on the main town to the north. The Schmutter flows to the west . The A 2 district road runs right through Willmatshofen and runs from Fischach to Tronetshofen , Siegertshofen and Mickhausen .

history

From 1862 to 1929 Willmatshofen belonged to the district office of Zusmarshausen and from 1929 to the district office of Augsburg (from 1939 district of Augsburg).

Willmatshofen was an independent municipality and was incorporated into Markt Fischach on July 1, 1972 as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .

The Catholic parish Sankt Vitus in Willmatshofen belongs to the parish community Fischach in the deanery Schwabmünchen in the diocese of Augsburg . Itzlishofen and most of Tronetshofen belong to the parish .

At Willmatshofen there are remains of the late Celtic Viereckschanze Brennburg .
