Bo Morgan Willy Lindström (born May 5, 1951 in Grums ) is a former Swedish ice hockey player (right winger), who from 1975 to 1987 for the Winnipeg Jets , Edmonton Oilers and the Pittsburgh Penguins in the National Hockey League and for the Winnipeg Jets in the World Hockey Association played.

Career

As a junior he played in his hometown for Grums IK in the Swedish second division. At the age of 20 he moved to the first division for Västra Frölunda HC .

After participating in the ice hockey world championships in 1974 and 1975 , he moved to the Winnipeg Jets in the World Hockey Association . Here he was able to win the Avco World Trophy in his first season in 1975/76 . In the team around the star Bobby Hull , his compatriots Anders Hedberg and Ulf Nilsson were among the top scorers. In the next three years he won the WHA championship twice. After the league was dissolved, he continued to play with the Jets in the NHL.

During the 1982/83 season he was given to the Edmonton Oilers to Wayne Gretzky . In the 1983/84 season he was the first European to win the WHA title to win the Stanley Cup . A year later he defended the title with the Oilers.

After three years in Edmonton, he played two seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins before returning to Sweden and playing for Brynäs IF .
