Willy Ruthenberg (born August 1, 1888 in Lüneburg ; † unknown) was a member of the first state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

Life

Willy Ruthenberg attended elementary school from 1894 to 1900, then the secondary school in Stettin . After graduating from university in 1908, Ruthenberg studied mathematics and natural sciences in Berlin , Rostock and Halle . He completed his studies with the doctorate to Dr. phil. and the qualification to teach ( state examination ) in various scientific subjects at secondary schools. In 1914 Ruthenberg entered the secondary school service in Stettin, took part in the First World War until 1916 and in 1918 became a senior teacher in Lauenburg . Because of his republican sentiments, he joined the DDP and headed the Dramburg humanistic grammar school from 1924 . After they came to power , the National Socialists reprimanded the democratic pedagogue, had him transferred to Gollnow and in 1942 finally enforced his dismissal from school. Ruthenberg therefore accepted a teaching position for higher mathematics at the Szczecin Engineering Academy from 1942 to 1945 .

After the Second World War , Willy Ruthenberg had to leave Stettin, moved to Wismar , where he helped found the CDU in Wismar together with former center member Anton Lorenz and later CDU country manager Willy Warning. First he was involved as local and then as district chairman, in September 1946 he was elected to the Wismar city council and in October 1946 to the state parliament of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . As an assessor of the extended CDU state executive, Ruthenberg influenced CDU politics in the country before he switched to state service in 1948.
