geography

Wilschdorf on a map from the 19th century

The Waldhufendorf, which consists of a lower and an upper village, is located south of the Karswald in a valley basin of a small tributary of the Wesenitz . The highest elevations are the Wilschdorfer Weinberg (285 m) and Winters Höhe (297 m).

history

Wilschdorf was first mentioned in a document in 1351 in Friedrich des Strengen's feudal book as Wilczdorf . At that time Otto Karras was enfeoffed on Dittersbach with the place in the districtus Dresdensis . In 1444 Wilschdorf was sold to Bishop Johann IV and the cathedral chapter of Meißen . Under Bishop Johann VI. From Saalhausen , the St. Donats pond was created north of the upper village in 1510 and another pond for carp rearing in the lower village in 1511 . The sheep breeding of the episcopal chamber estate was expanded from 345 to 950 animals. In 1559 the place finally becomes an electoral official village. The Stolpen official inheritance book, created at that time, counts 45 possessed men, 13 cottagers and 15 housemates.

church

The simple hall church with a gable roof was given a roof turret in 1661 and the choir that had just closed in 1678. The sandstone baptism marked MS 1582 probably comes from Michael Schwenke from Pirna .

Bells

The bells are among the oldest in the wide area. The bell system was renovated in 2009.
