Wilson Moncayo
Wilson Abraham Moncayo Jalil (born September 20, 1944 in Ambato , Ecuador , † March 12, 2012 in Quito ) was Bishop of Santo Domingo de los Colorados .
Life
Wilson Moncayo studied theology and philosophy at the San José Seminary in Quito . He obtained a degree in dogmatics from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome and a master's degree in theology from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador . He was ordained a priest for the diocese of Latacunga on August 23, 1970 .
In 2002 he was appointed second bishop of the diocese of Santo Domingo de los Colorados by Pope John Paul II . He received his episcopal ordination from the Archbishop of Portoviejo, José Mario Ruiz Navas ; Co- consecrators were Vicente Rodrigo Cisneros Durán , Archbishop of Cuenca, and Raúl Holguer López Mayorga , Bishop of Latacunga. He succeeded Emil Stehle of German descent .
