The Windachspeicher even Windachtalsperre or occasionally wind Achsee is a detention basin with a permanent traffic jam in Oberfinning in Bavaria .

1961–1964 the Windach reservoir was built to protect the communities of Ober- and Unterfinning, Windach , Greifenberg and Eching am Ammersee from flooding . The reservoir is also used for local recreation and sport fishing. In addition, electricity is generated in a small hydropower plant using a flow turbine with an output of 40  kilowatts . The plant generates around 0.1 million  kWh per year. The storage facility is operated by the Free State of Bavaria ( Weilheim Water Management Office ).

The Windach , Beurerbach and Schlöglbach are dammed. The catchment area of the Windach from the source to the dam is specified by the water management office in Weilheim as 61.1 km². A maximum of 2.92 million m³ of water can be dammed. The targeted lake area for permanent traffic jams is 0.13 km². The shut-off is a windrow of moraine , long with a seal core of dense soil material from the valley floor from measured 14.00 m high (expansion height of fall of the power plant 8.80 m) with a 241 m and 5 m wide crown , wherein the height of Kronenstraße at 632.00 m above sea level, that of the crown wall at 632.7 m above sea level. There is a water-side sealing carpet in front of the dam .

The construction costs amounted to around 6 million DM; A further 4.5 million DM were later invested in renovations, modernizations and extensions.
