Winfried-Götz Berger

Winfried-Götz Berger (born September 24, 1938 in Bunzlau , Silesia ) is a German pharmacist and, as a medical officer in the Bundeswehr, was last from October 1, 1986 to September 30, 1997, head of the medical services subdivision in the Federal Ministry of Defense responsible for the organization of the medical service (BMVg) in the rank of general pharmacist .

Life

Berger graduated from high school in Regensburg . After the call-up for military service, he went through the training for the air force reserve officer of air defense . This was followed by a two-year internship in pharmacies and, after the pharmaceutical pre-examination in the fall of 1961, studied pharmacy from 1961 to 1964 and then until 1966 studied food chemistry at the Technical University of Karlsruhe as a Bundeswehr scholarship holder. After his re-entry into the armed forces, he worked from 1967 to 1971 in the areas of food monitoring and ecochemistry at the chemical investigation centers of the armed forces in Koblenz and Stuttgart. In addition, he developed a thesis in the field of chemistry of polyphenols in wine and vinegar and was established in January 1971 at the Technical University of Hannover Dr. rer. nat. PhD. Subsequently, Berger was employed as a division pharmacist of the 5th Panzer Division and with the stage manager of the military pharmacy of the German Armed Forces , before he took up his post in 1974 as a consultant for the personnel management of the medical officers in the BMVg. In October 1980, he was promoted to chief pharmacist when he took over the management of the department for personnel principles, personnel planning and budget in the inspection of the sanitary and health system (InSan). He was promoted to general pharmacist in 1986 with the transfer to the post of head of the subdivision responsible for organizing the medical services of the Bundeswehr. After his retirement in autumn 1997, Berger worked for three years, from the beginning of 1998 to the end of 2000, as editor-in-chief of the military medical journal Wehrmedizin und Wehrpharmazie . Until 2008 he was a member of the editorial board of the Medizinprodukte Journal (MPJ). From 2008 he was on the board of the Federal Association of Pharmacists in the Public Service e. V. (BApÖD) responsible for finances. Also from 2008 he is a board member of the Working Group of Pharmaceutical Councils of Germany (APD) responsible for the organization of the annual meetings of the APD.
