Winfried Dalferth

Winfried Dalferth (* 1953 in Stuttgart ) is a German Protestant theologian who became known as a Christian songwriter under the pseudonym Daffy . Most recently he was dean of the Evangelical Church District Crailsheim .

Life

Winfried Dalferth grew up in Stuttgart. From 1968 he attended the Evangelical Seminars in Maulbronn and Blaubeuren . Dalferth completed his theology studies in Tübingen and Vienna . After his second service examination in 1980, additional training in journalism followed in 1989 at the Evangelical Media Academy in Frankfurt am Main and in 1999 he received his doctorate in Christian journalism at the Institute for Practical Theology at the University of Erlangen .

In addition to his full-time work as a pastor and the associated activities such as engagement at Kirche Unterwegs , teaching in the field of journalism at the Evangelical University of Applied Sciences in Reutlingen and, since 1998, the chairmanship of the Biblical Figures Working Group (ABF), Winfried Dalferth became nationwide under the pseudonym Daffy known as a singer-songwriter of Christian pop music . Musically active from 1973 to 2002 under this pseudonym, he released eight albums, gave concerts as well as guitar courses and was co-editor of the guitar book sheet music for the Protestant hymnal . Daffy wrote and sang the Uli song for the radio play series Uli - On the Hot Track by Andreas Schwantge .

Dalferth also published theological specialist literature, including on the history of the development of Christian pop music.

Dalferth worked as a vicar in Meßstetten and as a parish vicar in Geislingen an der Steige , after which he was manager of the church Unterwegs of the Bahnau brotherhood . In 1987 he took over a special pastor's position for private radio in the Heilbronn prelature , in 1991 he became youth pastor in the Reutlingen church district , in 2002 parish pastor in Nattheim and between 2006 and 2008 pastor in Neresheim and Fleinheim-Dischingen.

From 1995 Dalferth belonged to the regional synod of the Evangelical Church in Württemberg , where he led the discussion group Gospel and Church . In the 2013 church elections, he lost his mandate to Siegfried Jahn, the dean of the church district of Blaufelden .

In November 2007 he was elected Dean of the Evangelical Church District Crailsheim , he began the service in April 2008. He retired in July 2016 and has been working as a freelancer ever since.

Private

Winfried Dalferth is married and has two children.
