Wittenbergen is located on the Lower Elbe and is part of the Rissen district of Hamburg .

Wittenbergen borders in the north on the town center of Rissen, in the east, upstream, on the nature reserve Falkenstein in Blankenese , in the south on the Elbe with a view of the Elbe island Neßsand and in the west, downstream, on the district Schulau of the town Wedel in Schleswig-Holstein .
