The Frienisberg residential and nursing home is a social facility for senior citizens and people with physical or mental disabilities in the village of Frienisberg in the community of Seedorf in the canton of Bern .

history

The roots of the Frienisberg residential and nursing home lie in the former monastery of the same name . After its dissolution in 1528, in the course of the Reformation in Switzerland , it was a seat of the Bernese bailiffs in Frienisberg until the end of the Bern city-state in 1798. During this period, the property of the former monastery served as a (hospital and) beneficiary institution and with the beginning of the Helvetic as a poor house. From 1834 the cantonal boys' deaf and dumb institute was located until it moved to Münchenbuchsee in 1890 . The subsequent catering facility was purchased by today's sponsors in 1897 and developed into the national residential and nursing home known today in the course of the 20th century .

The extensive real estate and property of the residential and nursing home in the village of Frienisberg also includes a leased farm - the residential and nursing home is the village of Frienisberg - and on the Chasseral the Métairie "Plan de l'Egasse" , which was purchased in 1906 Alp with an agricultural lease , as suggested by the French word Métairie ( German: agricultural leasehold or dairy ).
