The former Wojenthin Castle

The village of Wojenthin emerged from a manor. Older spellings of the German place name are Wogentin and Woyentin . The village had its own chapel and was parish in the parish of Schwellin. In the 16th century it belonged to the von Bonin family . In 1804 the von Saint-Julien family was mentioned as the owners of the village. In 1855 it belonged to the von Holtz family, who owned it until 1945. She was also the builder of the castle that existed until then.

Towards the end of the Second World War , the region was occupied by the Red Army in the spring of 1945 and then placed under Polish administration. After that, the native German population was expelled from Wojenthin by Poles who immigrated after the end of the war due to the so-called Bierut Decrees .

Wojęcino is now part of Świelino . In 2008 the place had 90 inhabitants.
