Wolf Pehlke

Wolf Pehlke (born August 6, 1955 in Sinzheim near Baden-Baden , † November 4, 2013 in Karlsbad ) was a German artist and author .

Life

Pehlke studied painting from 1978 to 1984 at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe . In 1979 he was one of the founders of the Kriegfried artist group with Harald Häuser , Heinz Pelz and Ralf Scherrer, among others . Pehlke was a scholarship holder of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the Else Heiliger Fund . In 1987 he received a scholarship from the Kunststiftung Baden-Württemberg and in 2001 the Cité des Arts scholarship , Paris. Wolf Pehlke was supposed to be the first winner of the Upper Rhine Art Prize of the City of Offenburg, combined with a retrospective of his works in the City Gallery Offenburg in 2010. However, Pehlke declined the prize for artistic reasons.

From 1991 to 2003 he had a teaching position for painting and drawing at the European Art Academy Trier , from 2000 to 2003 a teaching position for large format painting at the Landesakademie Schloss Rotenfels and from 2002 to 2004 a teaching position for painting and drawing at the University of Applied Sciences, Pforzheim . Since 2004 he has been teaching woodcut at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe.

Pehlke lived and worked in Karlsruhe .
