Wolfgang Filohn (born August 17, 1951 ) is a former German soccer player .
Athletic career
Club career
Wolfgang Filohn played from April 1971 to May 1975 in 48 games for BFC Dynamo in the major league . In the top division of GDR football , he scored a goal for the red wine . He scored this goal on matchday 9 of the 1972/73 season in the BFC's 2-1 home win against FC Vorwärts Frankfurt (Oder) .
In 1970/71 he reached the final of the FDGB Cup with the later GDR record champions . There, however, the East Berliners lost against the Dresden namesake from the Dynamo sports association with 1: 2 after extra time.
He played two games in the European Cup . With the BFC Dynamo he met in the UEFA Cup of the 1972/73 season on the eventual cup winners FC Liverpool , to which the East Berliners had to admit defeat after a goalless home draw due to a 1: 3 defeat in Anfield in the round of 16.
More often than in the Oberligaelf, Filohn was called up in the second team , which competed in the second-rate league . From the mid-1970s, the defender was on the ball far away from the international stage for SG Dynamo Süd Berlin and BSG Bergmann-Borsig Berlin .
Selection bets
With the GDR juniors , for whom he played a total of nine games, he won the 1970 UEFA youth tournament in Scotland. In 1973 Filohn was used three times in the U-21 selection .
Coaching career
After his active playing career, Wolfgang Filohn worked as a coach. Together with Peter Rohde , with whom he had already played in the league in East Berlin, he looked after the junior league team of the BFC Dynamo in 1986/87 .
Trivia
In 1980 Wolfgang Filohn made a brief appearance as a soccer referee in the episode "The Ambush" of the crime series Polizeiruf 110 on GDR television.
