Wolfgang Kreissl-Dörfler

Wolfgang Kreissl-Dörfler (born December 1, 1950 in Augsburg ) is a German politician and was a member of the European Parliament from 1994 to 2014 .

Life

He completed an apprenticeship as a farmer and then graduated from high school. After doing community service and studying social education, Wolfgang Kreissl-Dörfler went to Brazil from 1979 to 1985 as a development worker for the German Development Service (DED) . He then worked from 1986 to 1987 as an expert for Welthungerhilfe in Angola , where he was also the UN International Election Observer in 1992 . He later headed the EU election observation commissions in East Timor in 2001 and in Guatemala in 2007 . In Germany, Wolfgang Kreissl-Dörfler led various social projects with asylum seekers and unemployed young people and was the educational director of a rehabilitation center for the severely disabled and respiratory paralyzes.

Kreissl-Dörfler was initially a member of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen since 1983 , and has been a member of the SPD since 2000 .

Focus of work

Since 2009 he has been a member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Human Rights, Common Security and Defense Policy and a deputy in the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs of the European Parliament. He is a member of the Delegation for Relations with the United States and Deputy Delegation for Relations with the NATO Parliamentary Assembly and Deputy Delegation for Relations with Central America.

From 2004 to 2009 he was a member of the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs , 2006/2007 coordinator of the group in the CIA special committee on allegations of illegal transport and detention of terror suspects by the CIA on European territory, 1999 to 2004 Vice-President of the Delegation for relations with the countries of Central America, Mexico and Cuba, 2002 member of the Temporary Committee on Foot and Mouth Disease, 1999 to 2007 member of the Committee on Development and Cooperation and deputy in the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development , 2004 to 2009 member of the MERCOSUR delegation , 1997 to 2007 member of the delegation to the countries of South America and MERCOSUR, 1995 member of the delegation to the countries of South America, 1994 to 1999 member of the committee for external economic relations.
