Wolfgang Rösser (born March 16, 1914 in Berlin ; died May 14, 2007 in Zeuthen near Berlin) was a German NDPD functionary and a member of the People's Chamber .

Life

Wolfgang Rösser was born in Berlin as the son of a piano teacher. He attended the Reform Realgymnasium in Berlin. He learned the profession of insurance salesman (1934–1937). Then he was in the Wehrmacht . In 1944, as a major , he was taken prisoner by the Soviets, attended an anti-fascist school and taught there. In 1949 he was released from captivity.

In 1950 Rösser joined the NDPD and worked as a full-time employee on the party executive. From 1950 to 1952 he was rector of the University for National Politics (Central Party School of the NDPD) in Waldsieversdorf . His predecessor was Max Schneider . From 1951 to 1954 he completed a distance learning course at DASR with a degree in political science. From 1950 to January 1990 he was a member of the main committee of the NDPD, from 1952 to 1989 also a member of the party executive committee and presidium of the NDPD.

From 1950 to 1986 he was a member of the People's Chamber. Here he was deputy chairman of the parliamentary group from 1954 to 1958. In 1958 he succeeded Heinrich Homann as chairman of the parliamentary group. He was also a member of the Presidium of the People's Chamber. From 1963 to 1982 he was the secretary of the main committee of the NDPD. In 1982 he retired, but was an honorary member of the Secretariat of the Main Committee from 1982 to 1987. From 1982 to 1989 he was honorary chairman of the Party Control Commission as the successor to Ilse Rodenberg . On March 28, 1990, the NDPD cooperatively joined the League of Free Democrats . Then he joined the FDP . Wolfgang Rösser died in Zeuthen in 2007.
