Wolfgang Roth (* 22. November 1949 in Bieben , Vogelsberg ) is a German politician of the SPD .

education and profession

Wolfgang Roth graduated from high school in 1969 and then completed military service with the Federal Border Police. In 1971 he began studying education , politics and sports at the University of Marburg . He graduated in 1978 as a qualified pedagogue. From 1978 to 2000 he was employed as a pedagogical employee and later as deputy head of the educational organization of the State Sports Association of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Wolfgang Roth has been a member of the SPD since 1976. He was an assessor on the board of the SPD local association Kamp-Lintfort and its chairman from 2001 to 2011. He is also a member of the Kamp-Lintfort City Council. Roth is a member of the United Services Union .

Roth was a directly elected member of the 13th state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia from 2000 to 2005 . The SPD politician ran again on May 9, 2010 for entry into the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia and was directly elected with 42.9 percent of the first votes. He applied for it in constituency 57 , which includes the municipalities of Kamp-Lintfort, Rheinberg , Alpen , Sonsbeck , Xanten and parts of Neukirchen-Vluyn (all Wesel district ) on the left bank of the Rhine . He did not run for the early elections in 2012 and thus resigned from the NRW state parliament.

In 2010 he was sent to the 14th Federal Assembly by the SPD as an elector.
