The Woodland Township is one of twelve townships in Carroll County in the northwest of the US -amerikanischen state of Illinois .

The Woodland Township is located in northwest Illinois and extends up to 3 miles to the east bank of the Mississippi , which forms the border with Iowa . The Wisconsin border is around 25 miles north.
The Woodland Township is at 42 ° 09'09 "north latitude and 90 ° 02'50" west longitude and extends over 94.84 km². The Plum River rises within the township and flows into the Mississippi south of the nearby Savanna .
The Woodland Township is located in northern Carroll County on the border with Jo Daviess County . Within Carroll County, Woodland Township is bordered by Freedom Township in the east, Salem Township in the southeast , Mount Carroll Township in the south, Savanna Township in the southwest and Washington Township in the west .
