history

Wróblin Głogowski was first mentioned in 1295 in Liber fundationis episcopatus Vratislaviensis as the village of Wroblino . The place name is derived from the Polish wróbel , which means sparrow , after the German linguist Heinrich Adamy . The name Wróblina , which means sparrow village , is derived from this. The Germanized name Froebel has a different meaning.

The village is in the immediate vicinity of the Głogow copper works. In the 1970s, strong soil contamination from lead, zinc and copper was found in the area around Wróblin Głogowski , and many of the residents of the village and the surrounding villages suffered from diseases such as leukemia , catarrh and organ degeneration . As a result, many residents left the place. Today in Wróblin Głogowski only the Church of St. Helena , the train station and a residential building that is inhabited by a family of six members exist . The village church is a classicistic brick building built in 1810 . The church is no longer in use and is in very poor condition.

Until 1945 Froebel belonged to the German Empire . After the border was drawn in the period after World War II , the place came under the name of Wróblin Głogowski to the Republic of Poland . Between 1975 and 1998 the place belonged to the Legnica Voivodeship , after its dissolution as a result of a territorial reform, the place came to the Lower Silesian Voivodeship .
