history

In 1862 Carl Wuth founded a brewery that later operated as the Taunus Brewery. The building made of yellow and red clinker was erected in 1905 on the basement of an ice house built in 1898 , in which the blocks of ice extracted from the Rhine in winter were stored . The Wilhelminian style building shows a mix of neo-Romanesque and neo-Gothic styles . Its battlements and towers give it the impression of a medieval castle . The beer was u. a. delivered to the house of Nassau .

After the Second World War the building was used as a mushroom farm for mushrooms , as an illegal distillery and a car repair shop used. In 1967 the Federal Motorway 671 was built right next to the building and ancillary buildings were demolished and the basement closed. In 1984 it was planned to be converted into a brothel . It was later used as accommodation for asylum seekers . The building became a ruin . In 1999 the city of Wiesbaden decided to demolish it, but this failed because of the costs.

The head of a private academy for marketing and communication became aware of the building, renovated it in 2000 and moved the academy there. The building houses offices and an event location.
