Xia (Kingdom)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Kingdom of Xia was established in 407 AD by Liu Bobo , who rose from ruler of the Tiefu tribe ( Chinese  鐵 弗  /  铁 弗 , Pinyin Tiěfú ) to become king. The Kingdom of Xia is one of the Sixteen Kingdoms in Chinese history. Liu Bobo changed his family name to Hèlián ( 赫連 ).

Even if the Kingdom of Xia only existed until 431, its capital Tongwa (on the Ordos Plateau ) was a heavily fortified city and a cultural center. A border garrison was stationed in Tongwa during the Song Dynasty . The ruins of the city are in what is now Inner Mongolia .
