  • When the Persian Great King Hormizd II died after seven years in office, fierce succession battles broke out. Finally, the mighty nobles raise the unborn Shapur II to the rank of great king.

  • The aureus is replaced by the solidus in the western part of the Roman Empire . In the eastern part, the old coin is still valid.

  • Roman Empire : Under Bishop Marcellus I , riots broke out in the Christian community in Rome , as the latter provided severe penalties for Christians who fell away from their faith during the persecution. When public tumult broke out in the city, he was banished from Rome by Maxentius .
  • April 18 : Eusebius becomes the new bishop of Rome. He advocates the return of apostate Christians to the church after a period of penance.
  • August 17th : After the Christian community in Rome continued to disagree, Maxentius banished the two main opponents, Eusebius and Heraclius, to Sicily. The office of bishop then remains vacant for the time being.
