Yenişehir ( Turkish for new town ) is one of four districts of the city of Mersin and at the same time a district of the Mersin province in southern Turkey . The district is located in the east of the province on the Mediterranean Sea . Yenişehir has 191,189 and the district 196,206 inhabitants (as of 2010). In addition to Yenişehir, there is another municipality and 7 villages in the district.
