Yoo Ah-in (born October 6, 1986 in Daegu , South Korea ; real name: Eom Hong-sik) is a South Korean actor . He had his breakthrough with the television series Sungkyunkwan Scandal (2010) and the film Punch (2011). Punch had more than 5.3 million cinema viewers in South Korea, making it one of the most successful films of the year. The adaptation of the novel of the same name by Kim Ryŏ-ryŏng was directed by Lee Han . Yoo also worked with Lee on Lee's next film, Thread of Lies (2014) , which is also a film adaptation of a Kim Ryŏ-ryŏng novel . In these, Yoo plays a larger supporting role.
In 2015 he was finally hailed for his role as the villain in the action film Veteran - Above the Law . He also played the leading role in the historical film The Throne as Crown Prince Sado alongside Song Kang-ho and Moon Geun-young .
