Yoon Yeo-jeong (born June 19, 1947 ) is a South Korean actress . She was best known for Kim Ki-young's 1971 film Woman of Fire .

Life

Yoon Yeo-jeong was in her first year studying Korean Language and Literature at Hanyang University when she successfully won an audition for TV station TBC. She left college and made her acting debut in the drama series Mister Gong (1967). She achieved notoriety in 1971 through her roles as a femme fatale . For her first film, Kim Ki-youngs Woman of Fire , she was named best actress at the Sitges Festival Internacional de Cinema Fantàstic de Catalunya . Shortly thereafter, she played the role of concubine Jang Hui-bin in the historical drama of the same name.

At the height of her career, Yoon ended her career when she married singer Jo Young-nam in 1975 . They moved to the United States . However, in 1984 she returned to South Korea and started acting. In 1987 the couple divorced.

Another big moment in her career was A Family Goes Strange (2003) by Im Sang-soo , for which she received great acclaim from critics. In it she plays a woman who has extramarital relationships. She also starred in three other Im Sang-soo films: The Old Garden (2007), The Housemaid (2010) and Taste of Money (2013). She also played in the Netflix series Sense8 . In 2016 she played the lead role in E J-yong's film The Bacchus Lady , which premiered at the Berlinale .
