You Have to Win Zweikampf is the fourth studio album by the band Sportfreunde Stiller . It was published on May 19, 2006 and reached number 2 in the German charts.

background

The album was released in Germany a few weeks before the start of the 2006 World Cup and delivered one of the best-known German-language songs for this World Cup with '54, '74, '90, 2006 , which made it to number 1 in the singles charts and also called it "secret Anthem "of the World Cup applies. The title meant the final breakthrough for the band. The album title quotes the personal "guiding principle" of footballer Bixente Lizarazu .

The song Pogo in Togo is a cover version of the United Balls title of the same name from 1981. In Austria it was released as a single instead of '54, '74, '90, in 2006 .

reception

Benjamin Fuchs from Laut.de wrote that "nobody" thinks the album is good: "In retrospect, maybe a nice memory of the World Cup, certainly not more, but the album was probably not designed to be more than that." He gave it 2 out of 5 stars.
