The Chinese won the last race of the 2000/01 World Cup season , a mass start in Oslo. It was her only World Cup victory. In the overall ranking of the season, she finished 16th, her best result in this ranking. The 2001/02 season was Yu's last and was geared entirely towards a successful Olympic Games in Salt Lake City . The season was mediocre and she was not able to achieve any success in the games with 46th place in singles, 20th in sprint and 44th in pursuit and ended her active career after the games.
