Yuka Yoshida ( Japanese 吉田 友 佳 , Yoshida Yuka ; born April 1, 1976 in Tottori Prefecture ) is a former Japanese tennis player .

Life

Yoshida, who comes from Yokohama in Kanagawa Prefecture , graduated from Tokyo City University , she studied at the Faculty of Environmental and Information Sciences.

Career

She started tennis at the age of seven and preferred hard courts. Your trainer was the tennis player Sonoe Yonezawa ( 米 沢 そ の え ).

On the WTA Tour she won three double titles in her professional career. Her greatest success was her quarterfinal participation in the 1998 doubles competition at the US Open . From 1998 to 2004 she played 15 games for the Japanese Fed Cup team , of which she won nine.

In 2005 Yoshida ended her tennis career.

Since 2014 she has been the leader of the Japanese Fed Cup team .
