Zöttnitz is a hamlet-like district of Schlöben in the Saale-Holzland district in Thuringia .

geography

Zöttnitz lies at the foot of the southern slope of the Wöllmisse mountain, near the state road 1075 from Jena to Schöngleina - Bürgel . To the north is the Burgrabis castle site on the mountain plateau .

history

The hamlet was first mentioned in a document on March 20, 1380.

In 1673 the hamlet had 43 residents. In 1885 42 people lived in 9 houses with 8 households. The agricultural hamlet works together with the villages around Schlöben.
