Zacchaeus Okoth (born July 5, 1942 in Nyakach , Kenya ) is a Kenyan clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Archbishop of Kisumu .

Life

Zacchaeus Okoth received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Kisumu on November 14, 1968 .

On February 27, 1978 Pope Paul VI appointed him . to the bishop of Kisumu. The Archbishop of Nairobi , Maurice Michael Cardinal Otunga , donated him episcopal ordination on April 30 of the same year ; Co - consecrators were the Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in Kenya, Archbishop Agostino Cacciavillan , and the Bishop of Kakamega , Philip Sulumeti . On May 21, 1990, John Paul II appointed him Archbishop of Kisumu.

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on November 15, 2018.
