Zapatera Norte is a town in the Tarija Department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

Zapatera Norte is the largest town in the canton of Zapatera in the municipality of Caraparí in the southwestern part of the Gran Chaco province . The village lies at an altitude of 895  m at the confluence of the Río Carahuatarenda and Quebrada Arrayanal, the continuation of which becomes the Río Palos Blancos downstream.

Zapatera Norte is 200 kilometers by road east of Tarija , the capital of the department.

A dirt road leads through Zapatera Norte , which leads west to Zapatero Centro and south to Itaú , which is twenty kilometers away , and is only three kilometers west of the Ruta 29 highway . Coming from the south, this leads from Caraparí via Acheral to Palos Blancos , where it meets Ruta 11 .
