The Municipio Carapari is a district in the Tarija Department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
The municipality Caraparí is the western of the three municipalities of the Gran Chaco province . It is bordered to the northwest by the municipality of Villamontes , to the west by the province of Burnet O'Connor , to the southwest by the province of Aniceto Arce , to the southeast by the Republic of Argentina , and to the east by the municipality of Yacuiba . - The administrative seat of the municipality is the small town of Caraparí .
The central place of the municipality is the city of Caraparí with 3,549 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) in the eastern half of the district.

The municipality of Caraparí is located on the eastern slopes of the Bolivian Andean Cordillera in the Cordillera Suaruru .
Caraparí has a warm-temperate climate with a pronounced rainy season from December to March with consistently high temperatures (see climate diagram Yacuiba), and a dry season in the southern winter from June to September with warm daytime and cool nighttime temperatures.

The population density of the municipality in the last census of 2012 was 5.6 inhabitants / km², the proportion of the urban population was 23.1 percent, the life expectancy of newborns in 2001 was 65.9 years.
The literacy rate among those over 19 is 79 percent, 87 percent for men and 67 percent for women ( 2001 ).
