Zblewo [ zblɛvɔ ] ( German Hochstüblau ) is a village in the powiat Starogardzki in the Pomeranian Voivodeship , Poland . It is also the seat of the rural community of the same name .
geography
Zblewo is located about 70 km southwest of Gdansk . The village belongs to the ethno-cultural region of Kociewie . The Large and Small Bordzichower See are located in the municipality's territory .
history
The first written mention of the place by Wenceslaus III comes from the year 1305. As a result of the First Partition of Poland in 1772, Zblewo fell to Prussia. In 1812 Napoleon's army moved through the Zblewo area. Since 1818 the district of Preußisch Stargard - and thus also Hochstüblau / Zblewo - belonged to the administrative district of Danzig in the province of West Prussia . The village experienced an economic boom in the second half of the 19th century with the construction of the railway line from Berlin to Königsberg . Since 1874 Hochstüblau was the seat of an administrative district .
As a result of the Versailles Treaty , Hochstüblau / Zblewo fell to Poland in 1920 . During the Second World War, Zblewo was occupied by German troops from September 1939 to March 1945.
From 1975 to 1998 Zblewo was part of the Gdansk Voivodeship .

The rural community ( gmina wiejska ) Zblewo includes 16 districts with a Schulzenamt ( sołectwo ) . It extends over an area of 137.96 km², of which 60% is used for agriculture and 28% is forested.
