The focus of the magazine is on partnership and corporation law , corporate and co-determination law , German and European antitrust , competition and business law as well as commercial , capital market and banking law .
founder
The magazine was founded and published by Levin Goldschmidt in 1858 as a magazine for commercial law . This makes it one of the oldest legal journals in the German language to be published to this day. The name of the Jewish founding editor was no longer mentioned in the ZHR's title from 1936 to 1948. For the 150th year of the magazine, a ceremony took place in Berlin, the speech was given by the Federal Minister of Justice Brigitte Zypries .

Today's editors of the ZHR are Mathias Habersack , Karsten Schmidt , Wolfgang Schön (these three also editors ) together with Theodor Baums , Martin Burgi, Klaus-Peter Dolde, Hartwig Henze , Peter Hemeling, Michael Hoffmann-Becking , Friedrich Kübler, Reinhard Marsch, Peter O. Mülbert , Peter-Christian Müller-Graff , Eberhard Schmidt-Aßmann , Lutz Strohn, Peter Ulmer and Martin Winter.
Publisher / edition
The ZHR was published by the publishing house Recht und Wirtschaft , which belonged to the publishing group Deutscher Fachverlag based in Frankfurt am Main . Since the merger of the publishing house Recht und Wirtschaft with the Deutscher Fachverlag, it has now been published directly by the publisher or, in organizational terms, by the new area of specialized media law and economics . The edition is 1875 copies (as of 2018).
