Zhongli , also Jhongli or Chungli ( Chinese 中 壢 區 , Pinyin Zhōnglì Qū , Tongyong Pinyin Jhōnglì Cyu , Pe̍h-ōe-jī Tiong-le̍k-khu ), is a district of the government -direct city of Taoyuan in Taiwan with over 384,000 inhabitants (March 2015) and an area of 76.52 km².
Mainly commuters who work in Taipei , New Taipei and the surrounding industrial parks live here . To do this, they use trains on the HSR high-speed railway , whose Taoyuan station is in Zhongli, or the adjacent Autobahn 1 by bus or car. The large Taipei-Taiwan Taoyuan Airport is nearby .
There are 3 universities in Zhongli, the National Central University, the private Yuan Ze University and the also private Chung Yuan University .
