Bali , also Pali , ( Chinese 八里 區 , Pinyin Bālǐ Qū , Pe̍h-ōe-jī Pat-lí Khu ) is a district of the city of New Taipei in northern Taiwan , Republic of China .

The Bali District is located at the mouth of the Tamsui River on the northwestern edge of New Taipei City. It is bounded to the west, south and east by the neighboring districts Linkou and Wugu , and to the northeast by the Tamsui River. In the northwest, Bali is bordered by the Taiwan Strait . This is where the most significant structure in the district is located, the Taipei Port , which was inaugurated in 1998 .
Leisure and attractions
With its bike paths on the Tamsui banks, Bali is a popular recreational destination for the citizens of New Taipei and Taipei . Other attractions include the traditional market and Guanyin Shan Mountain in the southwest of the district , which overlooks the Taiwan Strait to the northwest and the Taipei Basin to the southeast. Other attractions include the Shisanhang Archaeological Museum , which opened in 2003 and named after the prehistoric Shisanhang culture , the remains of which were found in the Bali area, and some Daoist temples.
