Yonghe , even Yungho ( Chinese 永和區 , Pinyin Yǒnghé Qū , W.-G. Yungho Chü , PEH OE jī Eng-hô ), a district (區is Qui ) the city of New Taipei City in northern Taiwan with around 235,000 inhabitants (as of 2010). It is located southwest of Taipei .

Yonghe is located in the southern part of the Taipei Basin . In the north and east, the Xindian River forms the border with Taipei. Three road bridges provide a connection to the capital of Taiwan. Moreover Yonghe is through the orange Zhonghe line to the metro network Taipei connected.
In the south, Yonghe borders on the Zhonghe District . The two districts are also known together as Shuanghe ( 雙 和 - "He twins") because they have a common history and share the second syllable of their name ( 和 , Hé ).
With 5.7 km², Yonghe is the smallest district of New Taipei in terms of area, with over 41,000 inhabitants per km² it has the highest population density of all administrative units at the district or municipality level in Taiwan. Almost its entire area is densely built, mainly with apartment complexes. The largest green spaces are located on the banks of the Xindian River and in Renai Park in the northwest.
history
Until 1958, Yonghe was part of the southern neighboring district of Zhonghe, which was originally a rural community ( 鄉 , Xiāng ) and in 1946 had about 30,000 inhabitants. Due to the proximity to Taipei, the population grew strongly, so that Yonghe 1958 became an independent municipality ( 鎮 , Zhèn ). In 1979 it was promoted to city ( 市 , Shì ). On December 25, 2010, Yonghe City lost its independence and was incorporated as a district into the newly established New Taipei City.
