Wugu ( Chinese 五股 區 , Pinyin Wǔgǔ Qū , Pe̍h-ōe-jī Ngó • -kó • ) is a district of the city of New Taipei in northern Taiwan , Republic of China .
Location and importance
Wugu is bordered by Bali District to the north and west , Linkou , Taishan , Xinzhuang, and Sanchong Districts to the south , and Luzhou District and Shilin and Beitou Districts of Taipei City to the east . Wugu is roughly two thirds hilly, its landmark is the Guanyin Shan Mountain in the north of the district , which is also a popular excursion destination.
Wugu is home to the New Taipei Industrial Park , one of the most important industrial districts in Greater Taipei. In addition to Guanyin Mountain, the Buddhist Xiyun Temple, built in 1752, is a major attraction for visitors.
