Zita Szucsánszki (born May 22, 1987 in Budapest , Hungary ) is a Hungarian handball player . In 2011 she was voted handball player of the year in Hungary.

Career

Szucsánszki initially played for FSZSE and from 1998 for Postás SE . In 2002 she joined the Budapest association BP Kőbánya Spartacus . In the 2003/04 season, the back player was used for the first time in the Nemzeti Bajnokság I, the highest Hungarian division. In the summer of 2005, the right-hander moved to Ferencváros Budapest . With Ferencváros, she won the Hungarian Championship in 2007 and 2015, the Hungarian Cup in 2017, the EHF Cup in 2006 , and the European Cup Winners ' Cup in 2011 and 2012 . As of May 2018, she was on pause due to pregnancy. After the birth of her child, she returned to FTC training in October 2019.

Zita Szucsánszki has so far played 136 international matches for the Hungarian women's handball team , in which she scored 409 goals. With the Hungarian selection, she took part in the 2009 World Cup and the 2010 European Championship .

Szucsánszki is married to the Hungarian handball coach Gábor Elek .
