Zoltán Báthory (* 1978 ) is a Hungarian musician and martial artist . He is the founder, rhythm guitarist and songwriter of the band Five Finger Death Punch and won the Golden God Award from Metal-Hammer-Magazin in 2010 .

Career

In 2004 Zoltán Báthory joined the band U: P: O and replaced the bassist Ben Shirley. He left the band in 2005, switched to guitar and formed the band Five Finger Death Punch. She was signed to The Firm label. Five Finger Death Punch recorded their debut album in 2006 with sound engineers Steve Bruno and Mike Sarkisyan, mixed by Soulfly / Machine Head guitarist Logan Mader . The Way of Fist was released on July 31, 2007. The self-produced recording sold 600,000 times in the United States and resulted in three top 10 singles. The following album, War Is the Answer , was released on September 22, 2009 on Prospect Park Records. The recording debuted at number 7 on the Billboard 200 and all four singles on the album made it to the top 10 on the mainstream rock chart. War is the Answer was on Billboard's Top 100 for over 92 weeks, which was a record, and sold over 1,000,000 copies. The third recording American Capitalist was even more successful, debuted at number 3 on the Billboard 200, has three more top 10 singles, and thereby enabled gold status in the same year.

Zoltán Báthory (2010)

In 2013, Five Finger Death Punch released a double studio album The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteius Side of Hell, Volume 2 . Within three months it reached number 2 on the Billboard 200 chart . Volume 1 includes guest appearances by Rob Halford from Judas Priest , Maria Brink from In This Moment , tech n9ne , Jamey Jasta from Hatebreed and Max Cavalera from Sepultura and Soulfly. Báthory won the "Best Shredder" award at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards 2010. This was the third Golden God award. The band received the "Best New Artist" in 2009 and the "Breakthrough Artist" in 2010.

In 2013, Five Finger Death Punch was nominated and won a Golden God Award for Song of the Year with Lift Me Up , the number one mainstream rock hit starring Rob Halford of Judas Priest. Guest singers Halford and Rob Zombie supported the band at the Golden Gods Award.

Equipment

In 2009 BC Rich launched three Zoltan Bathory Artist signature guitars: Bathory - Assassin. Báthory uses Dunlop hard core strings.

In November 2014 it was announced that the American guitar manufacturer DBZ Guitars wanted to release the first Diamond Signature guitar together with Báthory. Although Báthory only switched to Diamond / DBZ guitars at that time, the company claimed that they had already had a long collaboration, as Báthory had been using their amplifier for ten years.

Five Finger Death Punch played several military benefit concerts, visited military bases around the world, and ran fundraising campaigns for veterans suffering from traumatic brain injury (TBI) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

In 2014, Five Finger Death Punch raised over $ 225,000 in donations. The band used their latest music video for their final single Wrong Side of Heaven , put it in the spotlight and released the website 5fdp4Vets.com. They also sold a jersey designed by Báthory on Indiegogo . The proceeds went to organizations that raise awareness about PTSD.

Báthory was elected to chair development for The Home Deployment Project in Las Vegas, which supports war veterans suffering from PTSD, TBI, and persistent homelessness.

Private

In his private life, Báthory is a martial arts, judo and Brazilian jiu-jitsu athlete, known from martial arts magazines. He is in the Gracie Humaita Competition Team with Professor Amilcar Cipili (4th degree) and 7th degree Black Belt Royler Gracie . Báthory won the silver medal at the Abu Dhabi Pro Jiu Jitsu World Trials and finished 3rd in its category at the 2012 North American Grappling Championships.

He is one of the civilly certified L1 Modern Army Combatives Instructor of the US Army - Close Quarter Combat. Báthory also practices Wing Chun Kung-Fu under the world-famous Sifu Randy Williams CRC Academy, as well as guerrilla Jiu-Jitsu under Professor John Simeons III.

In 2014, Báthory joined Monster Jam Free Style World Champion Jimmy Creten's Monster Truck Racing Team 2Xtreme Racing as their driver behind the wheel of the new "Knucklehead" truck. Báthory's professional debut took place at the WGAS Motorsport Flip Fest Monster Truck and Motocross Show in California. Báthory was a driver at Florida's EastBay Racetrack, Kansas City Speedway, Newfoundland Raceway in Canada and performed at the 2015 Monster Jam Finals in Las Vegas.
